چکیده

STRESZCZENIE W artykule omówiono epidemiologię, objawy kliniczne, kryteria diagnostyczne wg Międzynarodowej Klasyfikacji Bólów Głowy wydanie 3 beta (ang. The International Classification of Headache Disorders, 3rd edition beta version – ICHD-3), przyczyny, diagnostykę różnicową, leczenie oraz dokonano przeglądu najnowszego piśmiennictwa dotyczącego neuralgii nerwów czaszkowych, które występują u dzieci. Przedstawiono ogólną charakterystykę neuralgii, a także różnice i podobieństwa w ich obrazie klinicznym u dzieci i dorosłych. Niektóre neuralgie jak: nerwoból nerwu trójdzielnego, nerwoból nerwu językowo-gardłowego, nerwoból nerwu pośredniego, nerwoból nerwu potylicznego, zespół Tolosa-Hunta i zespół Raedera omówiono szczegółowo. Słowa kluczowe: nerwoból nerwu trójdzielnego, nerwoból nerwu językowo-gardłowego, nerwoból nerwu pośredniego, nerwoból nerwu potylicznego, zespół Tolosa-Hunta, zespół Raedera ABSTRACT The following article discusses the epidemiology, clinical manifestations, diagnostic criteria of the The International Classification of Headache Disorders, 3rd edition beta version ICHD-3, causes, differential diagnosis, treatment and a review of recent literature on cranial neuralgia occurring in children. The general characteristic of neuralgias are presented as well as differences and similarities in the clinical picture in children and adults. Neuralgia such as trigeminal neuralgia, glossopharyngeal neuralgia, nervus intermedius neuralgia, occipital neuralgia, TolosaHunt syndrome and Raeder’s syndrome are discussed in detail.

The Grand Challenge in Cranial Pain—From Migraine to Cranial Neuralgias: Understanding Differences and Similarities to Advance Knowledge and Management

The field of primary headaches and cranial neuralgias has experienced in a relatively brief period a startling progress in expansion of knowledge (1, 2). This has allowed partial unraveling of the machinery involved in the occurrence of attacks and the identification of a set of mediators and genes that are likely to play a role. In the case of migraine, accumulated evidence has very recently l...

Glossopharyngeal neuralgia.

Glossopharyngeal neuralgia is a distinctive syndrome, named by Wilfred Harris. Investigation must exclude multiple sclerosis, and local compression, especially by tumours which require treatment. Dandy deserves credit for first indicating vascular compression of cranial nerve roots as a cause of cranial neuralgias, and Jannetta for establishing neurovascular decompression. Vascular compression ...

Headaches of otolaryngological interest: current status while awaiting revision of classification. Practical considerations and expectations

In 1988, diagnostic criteria for headaches were drawn up by the International Headache Society (IHS) and is divided into headaches, cranial neuralgias and facial pain. The 2(nd) edition of the International Classification of Headache Disorders (ICHD) was produced in 2004, and still provides a dynamic and useful instrument for clinical practice. We have examined the current IHC, which comprises ...

Serotonin mediated cluster headache, trigeminal neuralgia, glossopharyngeal neuralgia, and superior laryngeal neuralgia with SAD chronicity.

Cluster headache is a rare and severe pain syndrome with elusive pathophysiology. Serotonin pathways within the brainstem may be implicated in cluster headache with seasonal affective disorder and a subset of cranial nerve neuralgias. We describe and chronicle a syndrome consisting of cluster headache, seasonal affective disorder, with associated trigeminal, glossopharyngeal, superior laryngeal...
